Paolo amassed a commemorative career in the sport starting with acquiring a scholarship in a USA high school as a Kicker. Initially he was scouted by the high school as a soccer player but when the American football coaches saw his fancy footwork skills they propositioned him and he was recruited as a Kicker. Paolo visiting the San Jose TOROS F.A. team practice a few weeks before his passing. Paolo was the first Head Coach of the TOROS F.A. team in 2009 and also doubled as the team Kicker. TOROS F.A. won the championship that same year! Paolo then went on to become the founding president of the American Football Federation of Costa Rica (FEFACR) in 2011 until 2015.
